The 7-year-old girl who talked on the phone with Donald Trump left some milk and cookies for Santa, even though the president told her it was “marginal” for a child her age to still believe in Santa
Little Collman Loyd, of Lexington, South Carolina, says she has never heard the word “marginal” before.
She contacted the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on Monday night to find out where Santa was in his gift distribution.
The scientist on the phone asked her if she wanted to talk to the president, she said, in an interview with the daily Post and Courier .
Six minutes later, Donald Trump asked her if she still believed in Santa Claus.
“Yes, sir,” she replied.
“Because at age 7, it’s marginal. No?” He said.
Not knowing the meaning of the word “marginal”, the girl was content to answer “Yes, sir” again. The president then sneered and concluded the call by wishing him to enjoy the festivities.
This telephone conversation was originally presented as a conversation with a boy named Coleman. The reporters could only hear Donald Trump’s answers, but Collman’s family later released a video of the exchange in its entirety.
The Post and Courier reports that Collman, his 5-year-old brother and 10-year-old sister left Santa Claus cookies and chocolate milk on Monday. The next morning, the food was gone and gifts were under the tree.
