Wave of explosive devices targeting Democratic personalities in the United States

New York has been the victim of an attempted “terrorist attack,” says New York Governor Andrew Cuomo after packages containing potentially explosive devices were sent to a series of Party figures Democrat.

The US Secret Service confirmed earlier today that “suspicious packages” sent to ex-President Barack Obama and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton contained “potentially explosive devices.” They were intercepted in time by the staff responsible for filtering their mail.

According to Associated Press sources, the device for Clinton was “functional” and looked just like another explosive device discovered Monday at the New York residence of billionaire and philanthropist George Soros. This package did not explode either.

New York Times sources confirm this similarity, stating that the device sent to Mr. Soros was a homemade bomb consisting of a pipe of about fifteen centimeters filled with explosive powder.

The New York police also confirmed in the afternoon that a package containing an explosive device appearing functional and a white powder considered suspicious was discovered and removed from CNN offices in New York. According to television network sources, the package was destined for former CIA director of the Obama administration, John Brennan.

Governor Cuomo himself confirmed that an explosive device had been sent to him. He admitted that he would not be surprised if other parcels of this kind were soon to be discovered. In the meantime, security has been strengthened in New York, especially in media buildings, said New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.

According to NBC, the return address on parcels for Clinton and MM. Obama and Soros were Democratic Representative Deborah Wasserman Schultz, formerly chair of the Democratic National Committee, the governing body of the Democratic Party.

Police in Sunrise, Florida, also confirmed that some of its officers went to Deborah Wasserman Schultz’s office in the morning to investigate a suspicious package. According to CNN, it was intended for the former US Attorney General of the Obama administration, Eric Holder. The address is bad, the parcel was returned to the return address on the package.

The San Diego Tribune also confirmed that its offices were evacuated due to a suspicious package on Wednesday morning. The building housing the daily also hosts offices of Democratic Senator Kamala Harris, considered a possible Democratic presidential candidate in 2020.
